CHSAA publishes an annual Flag Football Bulletin. The July 2026 edition, from Assistant Commissioner Arin Dunn, records seventy-four CHSAA member schools participating in the fall 2026 season. Colorado crowns 4A and 5A state champions; Mountain Vista won back-to-back 5A titles and The Classical Academy took the 4A title in 2025. The 2025 season was the first full year under the NFHS Flag Football Rules Handbook, and CHSAA publishes its own Colorado state rule adoptions alongside it. A standing Flag Football Advisory Committee reviews rules and league alignment. Flag belts and uniforms must follow NFHS guidelines from the 2026-28 rules cycle. The CHSAA Legislative Council voted to sanction the sport at its April 2024 meeting, as its 33rd sanctioned sport, with the first state champions crowned in fall 2024 (CHSAA, https://edit.chsaanow.com/?p=41965).
